The "INNO-AI Competition 2025-26" was successfully held on 27 June. This year's competition centred on the theme "Technology for Accessibility", aiming to encourage students to apply innovative thinking and artificial intelligence to explore ways of improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities. Three winning teams were also invited to deliver public presentations and receive their awards at the Learning & Teaching Expo 2026, showcasing their outstanding achievements in technology innovation.

The competition was structured around four sequential learning stages, providing participating teams with a holistic hands-on experience. In the first stage, teams conducted in‑depth research on the "Technology for Accessibility" theme, identifying specific pain points in the daily lives and work environments of persons with disabilities. Areas of focus included reading and recognition, navigation and mobility, limb control, and daily self‑care. Subsequently, teams were required to conceive corresponding AI‑based solutions, freely exploring the feasible applications of various artificial intelligence technologies.
During the prototype development stage, teams utilised the designated hardware kits to create their AI prototypes, which were iteratively tested and refined. Finally, on the competition day, teams presented and demonstrated their work to a panel of professional judges, responding to questions in real time.

Each team was allotted 10 minutes to introduce their project to the judges, supported by physical prototypes, video demonstrations, or multimedia presentations. The presentation covered key aspects such as an overview of the model, problem definition, AI solution and technical implementation, prototype demonstration, and programme design explanation. This was followed by a 3‑minute Q&A session, which tested the teams' in‑depth understanding of their projects and their ability to respond promptly to queries.

The organisers were honoured to have Mr. Chan Wing Tak, teacher at Cheng Yu Tung Secondary School of the Shunde Fraternity Association, and Mr. Ka Shun Ng, Curriculum Manager of Trumptech, serve as judges. The judging panel provided insightful comments and valuable recommendations to each team from a professional standpoint, greatly benefiting the participants. Assessment was based on four key criteria: Concept and Rationale, AI and Technology Application, Model Design, and Presentation Skills, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of each project's innovation, feasibility, and clarity of communication.
